SPAN 3320 - Medical Spanish Translation and Interpretation 4 Semester Hours An introduction to the basics of medical translation and interpretation including types of interpretation, Code of Ethics, HIPAA basic guidelines and basic medical terminology of anatomical systems, medical suffixes/prefixes. Students review pronunciation and selected grammatical concepts. Discussion includes medical terminology in Spanish including vocabulary for pain, body parts, informed consent, physical examination, etc.
Prerequisites: SPAN 2110 - Contemporary Hispanic Culture or by approval of instructor
