BIOL 3300 - Molecular Cell Biology W Lab 4 Semester Hours BIOL-3300 provides an in-depth study of the molecular principles by which eukaryotic cells function, with emphasis on membrane structure/function, signal transduction,
cytoskeleton, and the cell cycle. The lab is a research-based course focused on the development and analysis of genetically modified microorganisms (bacterial, fungal, or protozoan) and the effects of these modifications. Techniques include microorganism culture, PCR, cloning, Southern and western blotting, light and fluorescence microscopy, and database analysis.
Prerequisites: BIOL 2000 ; CHEM 1221 ; CHEM 1223
