One Course from Each Group

Students must take one course from each of the following groups:

A single course cannot be used to satisfy both requirements.

Jewish, Christian, and/or Islamic Traditions

At least one course with a primary emphasis on description and interpretation of Jewish, Christian, and/or Islamic traditions must be taken.

RLST 2110 - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam 4 Semester Hours (C or higher)
RLST 2150 - Introduction to Islam 4 Semester Hours (C or higher)
RLST 2160 - Introduction to Judaism 4 Semester Hours (C or higher)
RLST 2170 - Special Topics in Traditions A 4 Semester Hours (C or higher)
RLST 2210 - The Bible: Hist Beginnings, Development,ýContent, and Modern Interpretations 4 Semester Hours (C or higher)
RLST 2220 - Intro to the New TestamentýThen and Now 4 Semester Hours (C or higher)
RLST 3110 - Christian Thought 4 Semester Hours (C or higher)
RLST 3120 - Christian Theology Today 4 Semester Hours (C or higher)

Hindu, Buddhist, and/or Other South Asian or East Asian Traditions

At least one course with a primary emphasis on description and interpretation of Hindu, Buddhist, and/or other South Asian or East Asian traditions must be taken.

RLST 2130 - Special Topics in East Asian Religions 4 Semester Hours (C or higher)

SOAN Elective

Take one (1) additional course in SOAN, of student choice:

Religious Studies Seminar Course

Students must take one of the two Religious Studies seminar courses:

Sociology/Anthropology Seminar Course

Students must take the Sociology/Anthropology seminar course:

SOAN 4920 - Sr Seminar in Soc & Anthro 4 Semester Hours

Religion, Society, & Culture

Complete a directed study in religion, society, and culture. Student may choose to take the directed study as an RLST or SOAN course:

RLST 4800 - Directed Study 4 Semester Hours (C or higher)
SOAN 4800 - Directed Study 4 Semester Hours (C or higher)

Comprehensive Exam

Students must complete a comprehensive exam in their major:
