Integrative Music Theory Courses

Students must complete TWO courses in the Integrative Music Theory sequence:

*Though MUSC 1000  is a pre-requisite for all music theory courses, students with a solid background may test out of the class.

• MUSC 1000 - Integrative Music Theory I 4 Semester Hours *
• MUSC 2000 - Integrative Music Theory II 4 Semester Hours
• MUSC 2010 - Integrative Music Theory III 4 Semester Hours

Music Elective

Students must complete ONE music elective from the following list:

*Other music electives may count, including Special Topics courses, with departmental approval.

• MUSC 1110 - The Literate Tradition: a Survey ofýWestern Art Music 4 Semester Hours
• MUSC 2100 - History of Jazz 4 Semester Hours
• MUSC 2110 - Beethoven 4 Semester Hours
• MUSC 2130 - Women and Music 4 Semester Hours
• MUSC 2140 - World Music: Globalization in Sound 4 Semester Hours

Additionally

The minor in music also requires the following:

• 4 semesters of applied studio lessons in one area (one credit hours each semester)
• 4 semesters of participation in an approved ensemble (one credit hour each semester)
