HIST 3150 - History of Medicine and Health in Mississippi 4 Semester Hours In HIST-3150, students investigate disease, health, and healthcare in Mississippi from the territorial period to the present. Much of the course takes place off-campus at important sites of medical history around the state, including Mound Bayou and UMMC, meeting and interviewing people who made the history. Students connect health and medicine in the past with present challenges and public health disparities. Special attention is paid to issues of race, class, and gender.
